The Opportunity

Strengthening B.C.’s carbon tax so that is fairer and more effective will allow the province to capitalize on the following opportunities:

  • Greater cuts in carbon pollution throughout B.C.’s economy.
  • More investment, innovation, and job creation in B.C.’s low-carbon businesses. A recent study estimated B.C.’s growing clean technology sector employs over 8,000 people with $2.5 billion in annual revenue.
  • Increased support for the carbon tax as communities, businesses and families see carbon pollution declining and investment and jobs in low-carbon businesses growing.
