The Challenge
Cosmetic pesticide exposure affects all citizens of BC, rural and urban, young and old. There is broad, consistent and strong support for provincial pesticide legislation. Public opinion polls consistently show 70% in support of legislation throughout BC’s regions in the North and Interior, Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Despite this, the perception exists that rural BC opposes this legislation.
Increasing opposition from the chemical industry poses the risk of adopting watered-down legislation that would have no impact in creating a healthier British Columbia for families and the environment.
