Environmental Report Cards - Election 2009

Several of BC’s leading environmental organizations have released report cards based on reviews of the three main parties’ environmental platforms or responses to questionnaires.

The reviews were undertaken by West Coast Environmental Law, the Pembina Institute and Ecojustice (on behalf of several other organizations).

It’s clear that while there are pluses and minuses to both the Liberals’ and the NDP’s platforms, they both have something to learn from the Green Party. It’s also clear that, regardless of which of the two leading parties forms government, BC's environmentalists are going to continue to have their work cut out for them. However, working together and with our supporters we know we can continue to make the environment a priority for whoever forms the next government.
